Eddie Hill's All Stars
Eddie Hill was released from the U.S. Army in late 1937 and went to work in Larchmont, New York. He continued to play baseball for teams in the Newburgh – West Point area. During the 1938 baseball season, he helped lead Schwartz to the Newburgh Twilight League championship. Hill continued play with his basketball team for several years after his release from the Buffalo Soldiers.

Edward L. “Eddie” Hill was from Poughkeepsie, New York. He joined the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 10thCalvary Unit (Buffalo Soldiers) in the early 1930’s. He had the rank of private during his military career. In addition to his career in the military, Hill was also an outstanding athlete. He excelled in baseball, football and basketball. During the 1930’s some of the teams that Eddie Hill played for were:

Eddie Hill’s All-Stars
As a baseball player, Hill played first base and pitched on occasions. He was regarded as an outstanding fielder and good hitter, usually batting at the top of the order. Before he injured his hand, Eddie was an outstanding quarterback on the football field. On the basketball court, Hill played guard and led the 10th Calvary – Buffalo Soldier team. He even had his own independent basketball team called the Eddie Hill All-Stars.
