This broadside was used to promote a game between the Kansas City Monarchs who had just dropped out of the Negro National League against the famous barnstorming team the House of David. The game was played at Muehlebach Field in Kansas City.
House of David Ball Players
The Kansas City Monarchs were owned by J.L. Wilkinson and Tom Baird. They were one of the most successful teams in black baseball. The Monarchs played in the following leagues during their career:

Negro American League 1937-1963
This Kansas City Monarch team included: Newt Allen, Chet Brewer, Frank Duncan, John Donaldson, Willie Foster, Bullet Joe Rogan and Turkey Stearns.
The House of David baseball team was sponsored by the religious order from Benton Harbor, Michigan. Over the years the House of David was one of the biggest draws in barnstorming baseball. This House of David team featured ex-Major Leaguer and Hall of Fame pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander. The House of David played a full time barnstorming baseball schedule from 1915 to 1956.
